ROOM 2 - The Neo-plastic Room: P. Mondrian

This room is the only one at WRH Suites which is furnished with 2 single beds. Furthermore, we have specially chosen the beds not only for their style and comfort, but also for their practicality - if required by our guests the beds can easily be transformed to form a comfortable double Queen Size bed. The room is cosy, while still being spacious, with the sleeping area being about 14 square metres in total. A unique feature of this is room can be found on the wall opposite the large, luminous window; a carved, Mondrian-inspired design which has been purposely toned-down by using aluminium rather than bright coloured paints. The modern bathroom has been furnished with luxurious bathroom ceramics, designer fittings and a good sized walk-in hydro-massage shower, which is ideal for ridding those aches and pains you may have acquired while visiting many of the city's sights.

Architect's Conception: The attempt to acknowledge the diversity of nature through mathematical order and to interpret this through an essential and universal plastic vision is the concept behind the Neoplastic Room. Aside from the curved lines, the interpretation of life takes place through the action of synthesis and abstraction, which are expressed through the elements of lines and colours. "Vertical and horizontal lines are the expression of two opposite forces, whose reciprocal actions form life. It is recognised that the equilibrium of each aspect of nature is based upon the equivalence of its opposites". (P. Mondrian - by R. Silicato, Le avanguardie storiche, in Art Dossier n. 52, page 22, December 1990).
